Additions and Enhancements to 22 Taraval:
The present owners made significant additions and enhancements to 22 Taraval over the past decade.
Redesigned the front of the home, with new property defining stucco walls, front gate and lighting, new pavers for the driveway and walkway, timer-controlled lighting, beautifully detailed solid wood garage door, new gardens, and timer-controlled irrigation system. Painted the home with a custom Mediterranean-sunset color shade.
Completely re-designed a new outdoor living space, including lowering the patio area by 3 feet to provide additional privacy and intimate seating. Installed new pavers to match those installed in the front of the home, installed new patio drains, built a new architectural retaining wall with integrated seating and new gardens with timer-controlled irrigation and lighting. Built a raised table-seating patio area, installed a gas-piped fire pit, and added remote-controlled party string lights. (It is a 22T oasis with step-out access from the kitchen deck or from the downstairs guest room/ office through sliding double doors).

Forest Hill is a leafy, century-old enclave of large estate homes, manicured lawns and flowering gardens so exclusive its almost unknown in San Francisco. That might be the way its residents like it. Think gated community without the gates, and you'll have a sense of the serenity, privacy, and tranquility of Forest Hill. In the center of San Francisco, Forest Hill has the ambiance of a small town. Beneath its tree-shaded winding streets, the 650 homes of Forest Hill follow the contours of Twin Peaks. The hillside provides spectacular views of the Pacific, the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. Stately homes are built in styles ranging from Spanish Mission to California Modern, with French Normandy, English Tudor, and Cotswold Cottage adding a sense of history. Noted architect Bernard Maybeck designed the historic clubhouse on Magellan Avenue, built by members on weekends, in 1919. Forest Hill is close to West Portal Village and its shops. Forest Hill or West Portal stations provide MUNI service to Union Square and the Financial District via a short 20-minute commute.
